This upcoming festival was a topic of conversation at both of the recent events in Cambridge and Ely so I thought a heads up in the blog would be in order. The festival is set to run 18-21 February…
The festival, which is organized by the Chelmsford & Mid-Essex branch of CAMRA, and hosted by the King Edward Grammar School (“KEGS” – how appropriate), was tremendous fun last year.
The festival’s website is now up and provisional beer and cider lists have been published there. Admission will be free for CAMRA members at all times, and for non-members before 6pm. After 6pm non-members pay £3.
This year the festival will revert to a cash bar (instead of using bingo cards like last year). A festival glass will cost £3 with £2.50 refundable if you choose not to keep it.
For further details check out the festival website.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to planned engineering work on Saturday the 21st there will be no train service from London to Chelmsford. Increased service will operate on the Liverpool Street to Southend line where rail replacement buses will run from Billericay to Chelmsford and all stations to Colchester and Ipswich. See further details here.
Mr & Mrs Fueled by Beer will be riding the rails once again on Saturday the 21st but unfortunately not to Chelmsford. South Bedfordshire CAMRA has their festival on the same day so we’ll likely be headed to Luton instead.
