7th Elysian Winter Beer Festival

Ely & District CAMRA hold their annual winter beer festival this Friday and Saturday, 29th and 30th of January 2016. As in previous years the venue is the wonderful events facility at the historic Maltings situated alongside the River Ouse in Ely. It will be Mr & Mrs Fueled by Beer’s third visit in three years and at this event we will be volunteering for the first time…

This festival is naturally popular with people from Ely and the surrounding Fenland communities but in the last few years it has been attracting increasingly large numbers from nearby East Anglian cities like Peterborough, Cambridge, King’s Lynn and Norwich all of which are less than one hour away by train.

Based on our past experience LocAle features heavily with the majority being small breweries from Cambridgeshire and Norfolk – rarely seen in the Reading area. And best of all, despite being a relatively small festival running only two days in a small and intimate venue the Elysian festival includes a dedicated brewery bar. This year the brewery bar is hosted by Three Blind Mice Brewery, Bexar County Brewery and Abstract Jungle Brewery. If the last two years are anything to go by this year’s brewery bar will be special.
