Reading’s Ale Pubs: Outside the IDR – The Fisherman’s Cottage

Great news for Reading’s east side pub-goers and ale lovers everywhere: the Fisherman’s Cottage will be reopening under new management on Friday 22 July at noon…

The reopened Fisherman’s Cottage will be a sister pub to The Greyfriar; everyone familiar with that ‘back-from-the-dead’ success story should feel optimistic about prospects for the Fish. If the provisional beer list for the opening is anything to go by: Thornbridge Jaipur, Oakham Citra, Triple-fff Moondance, Siren Undercurrent; we should be in for a treat. New feeds are already up on Facebook and Twitter – watch as the adventure unfolds.

Update: we stopped in at ‘The Fish’ on August 6th, a warm and sunny Saturday afternoon. Business was brisk both inside and out; ale selection has been expanded and was in good condition; and food offering well prepared and good value.
