UK Beer Festivals

Where breweries, beer drinkers, seekers of good times come together. Mostly CAMRA organised events (Campaign for Real Ale) but not always.

Maidenhead Beer festival 2017

This year’s Maidenhead Beer Festival is moving. The annual event organised by Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead CAMRA will be held at a new venue and in a different calendar slot than the past couple of years. The new venue is Maidenhead’s Magnet Leisure Centre and the dates are Thursday through Saturday, 19 to 21 October. For full details visit the various social media links below… (more…)

Great Welsh Beer Festival 2017

It’s that time of year again: when Mr & Mrs Fueled by Beer cross the Severn Bridge for a weekend of merriment in Cardiff. As in previous years we’ll be volunteering on the Saturday ale bar, and getting all tongue-twisted as we struggle to pronounce the names of Welsh breweries and their beers (after four years we still can’t say “Gŵyl Fawr Cwrw a Seidr Cymru”). The festival runs Thursday through Saturday, 21st-23rd September at The Depot Cardiff. For further details, both before and during the event, visit the various social media links below…

Newbury Real Ale Festival 2017

Final preparations are underway for the 14th Newbury Real Ale Festival which will be held on Saturday 9th September at Northcroft Fields. Organised and run by Newbury & Thatcham Hockey Club as a non-profit venture, it raises funds for numerous charities which this year include Thames Valley Air Ambulance and Ark Cancer Centre. Advance tickets (recommended) are now on sale through the festival website and the drinks lists are coming together… (more…)

Many local CAMRA branches organise social gatherings on at least one of the festival days. For example: Berkshire Southeast will meet on Thursday 10th; while West Berkshire will meet on Friday 11th. Check branch websites or social media for details…

27th Egham Beer & Cider Festival

Final preparations are almost complete for the 27th Egham Beer Festival. The triannual event, hosted by Egham United Services Club and ably assisted by North Surrey CAMRA, is set to run from Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th August. Egham is a great location for a beer festival, being situated halfway along the Reading to London Waterloo line, with half-hourly train service in both directions. The journey time to Egham is the same from Reading and London: roughly 40 minutes. The United Services Club is then a 10-15 minute walk from Egham Station…
